Since our founding, we’ve been dedicated to delivering high-quality interior design services, including new home design, full home renovations, single-room transformations, color consultations, furniture selection, and custom design projects.


Our company was inspired by family—our name represents the five sons of our founder, Steve Shorthouse—and reflects the strong family values that guide everything we do. Our Story & Approach to Interior Design

With over a decade of experience serving Pittsburgh, PA, and surrounding communities, DesignFive brings a well-rounded background in residential design and construction to every project. Our team combines creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of materials, layouts, and design trends to create spaces that stand the test of time.


Founder Steve Shorthouse brings over 30 years of experience in the design industry, including a background in furniture, manufacturing, and his role as a former North American Color Consultant for PPG Paints. Alongside him is a talented team that includes Delaney Stull, Mark Shorthouse, and Alyssa Hoffman, each contributing their unique skills in design, marketing, and project coordination.
